On the 16th they installed new hardware similar to this.
The old rods fused 3 vertebrae, the new ones fuse 4 vertebrae.
10:10pm - Got out of the hospital around noon.
Trip home a little painful for Jeannette, but she slept most of the way.
Made a few stops on the way home - potty breaks - drop off Karen -
lunch - pick up prescriptions at parmacy. Got home around 6pm.
Feels good to be home! Jeannette is resting comfortably.
Only a little pain.
9:30am - Looks like we're going home today!
Jeannette had a very good night.
The paperwork for discharge is in progress.

ReplyDeleteat 10:15 am Mom had her hair brushed and was bustling around the room packing her things. She decided what to wear home and has been talking to the various doctors and nurses about her home care requirements. She put on her glasses to go over the medication list with the pharmacist, and she suddenly seemed like her old self!
She's been walking up and down the halls and all around the nurses' station without a walker, trying to give them the idea that she should GET OUT OF HERE!!!
It seems like a miracle that she's in so little pain.
She's resting right now, waiting for the final go ahead to get dressed and get the car...Gonna miss those nights in the arm chair with the hourly wakeup call...
Prayers are truely answered - I didn't know about the surgery until Wed and my friends and co-workers at the church have been praying for a good recovery and strength for Don & Karen. I love you all.
